The Motor City’s Top Lift Shop – MUMBLY’s Off Road
We spoke with the owner of Mumbly’s Off Road, which is one of the mid-west’s top lift shop…DECADES of experience, un-matched knowledge and great customer service.
The guys at Mumbly’s will be installing a 6″ suspension lift along with our AMP PowerStep XLs. We are trying to firm up the lift kit and hope to add them to our site soon.
Softopper – official bed cover of Ultimate Ram Project
We will be installing the Softopper on our Ultimate Ram project truck. Softopper’s folding truck caps replace heavy, fiberglass or metal camper shells and provide cab-high protection that a flat tonneau cover cannot. It can quickly collapse forward out of the way or is easily removed all together to make room for larger loads.
We as well as many family and friends have used Softopper on many of our previous trucks and have been very happy with both its performance, looks and the great customer service at this American company.
BedRug for this truck too!
The Bed Rug is an innovative product that we were initially leery of. All of the guys in the shop were used to the traditional hard plastic drop-in liners and more recently spray in liners which we all had used for years. I actually bought a Bed Rug for my last truck and put it through the paces of typical Michigan truck ownership – rustic camping, firewood hauling, fishing trips, furniture, moving family/friends and naturally tailgating. The Bed Rug excelled in all areas durable, easy to clean and very comfortable to sit or sleep on during some of those trips. For these reasons it was a no-brainer for our Motor City’s Ultimate Ram Project. Visit their website and do some research of your own. They look awesome and hold up tremendously well.

Undercover SwingCase
We have again chosen the Undercover SwingCase for our Ultimate Ram project. We have used these bed toolboxes in previous truck builds an have been very pleased with the innovation design and usefulness. Once they are installed in the new Ram we will be sure to post some more photos.
Evaluating Suspension Lifts, then tires and wheels
We are still in the process of evaluating the ultimate suspension lift for the Ultimate Ram project. We do believe to have our favorite choice thus far and are waiting for a bit more information.
Once the suspension company and components are finalized, we can then shop for the appropriate wheel dimension and tires.
We are open to suggestions.
Iron Cross Bumpers arrive!
We just took delivery of our front and rear bumpers by the globally popular Iron Cross Bumpers. We will unbox and unveil the bumper models during their installation.
AMP Research PowerStep XL
We received our shipment of the AMP Research PowerStep XL for lifted trucks. Based on our research this is a superior product that even tackles the sometimes brutal Michigan water, snow, ice, salt and naturally mud. More to come….

Of all of the incredible, top-of-the-line products incorporated as part of our Motor City’s Ultimate Ram Project I’d say that when we are at a public event, car show, gun show – anywhere people gather – our truck is always a conversation piece and as soon as we open a door and our space-age AMP Research PowerStep XL boldy yet gracefully lowers itself there is always an immediate “Wow!” factor followed by “do it again!”
These AMP PowerSteps are awesome! They are so darn cool that it is sometimes easy to forget the incredible functionality they provide. We’d be lost without them and plan on using them for all of our future builds. We say, “Once you go AMP, you never go back“.
Another thing to mention here is the ease of installation – especially the electrical which is usually what people shy away from.
