Project Build Wrap-up
We are nearing the point with the Motor City’s Ultimate Ram Project where 95% of our chosen accessories have been installed. We are waiting for the arrival of our Wilco Offorad HITCHGATE spare tire (and Hi-Lift jack + Jerry Can Carrier) to complete the rear of the Ram with our 37″ Toyo. Wilco is a great American company who fully support our troops and law enforcement. We’ve used there hard-core HITCHGATE back on our Ultimate F150 Project and it is bullet proof and looks tough as h$ll.

EGR Fender Flares Installed!
This weekend we installed some meatier fender flares from EGR. In the photos you will see shots with no flares, with the painted stock flares and ultimately the matte black EGR rugged-looking flares. The flare install took about three hours with most of the time being installing the million decorate nuts and bolts, the very nice weather stripping and then removing the factory flares.
The actual installation of the EGR flares took about 15 minutes.
We couldn’t be happier with the look and functionality we experienced -as usual- from our EGR products. Time and time again EGR proves to be a quality product at very competitive pricing. Iron Cross Bumpers – INSTALL!
We installed the mighty Iron Cross Bumpers and they look sweet! Installation was a breeze, so easy in fact that you don’t even need any directions.
Everything lined up perfectly. The rear went on with some new bolts with just one guy – the front required two of us and reused some of the stock bumper mounting hardware. The Iron Cross Fog Lights fit well in the bumper and came fully complete with wiring harness, switch and relays all wired in.
We’ve installed many aftermarket bumpers in our time, but none have been as engineered as Iron Cross. The look incredible, get the crowds attention, have fantastic engineering, high quality and ease of installation. We hope to use Iron Cross on all future builds.

- Iron Cross Bumpers
All Sales Manufacturing – Billet Locking Fuel Door
All Sales Manufacturing (AMI) creates durable billet eye-candy products for various vehicle components. We will be installing their matte black locking fuel door cover on our Ram. We’ve used this product on several of our other vehicle builds and it looks awesome and works great. It’s always a good idea to slow down the fuel crooks especially with over 30-gallons of petro in the tank.
Mumbly’s Crew Puts Finishing Touches on BDS Lift & AMP PowerSteps
The incredibly knowledgeable crew at Mumbly’s – Mike, Steve and Tim used their finally honed skills to complete the BDS 4-link suspension lift on our RAM. We’ll talk more about the kit in a later post as well as the sweet AMP Research PowerStep XLs.
Get lit – with RECON
We decided to use the quality lighting products from RECON again with our Motor City’s Ultimate RAM. Still deciding on exactly what products from their huge lineup but we will probably be getting some smoked head and tail lights and a tailgate runner as well.
EGR USA for Fender Flares, Bug Guard and Window Vents
We’ve successfully run EGR products on several of our past trucks and jeeps. The fit, installation, durability, longevity and great looks keep us coming back. We will be installing EGR matte black window vents, hood bug deflector as well as a set of their premium fender flares.
Iron Cross Bumpers arrive!
We just took delivery of our front and rear bumpers by the globally popular Iron Cross Bumpers. We will unbox and unveil the bumper models during their installation.
AMP Research PowerStep XL
We received our shipment of the AMP Research PowerStep XL for lifted trucks. Based on our research this is a superior product that even tackles the sometimes brutal Michigan water, snow, ice, salt and naturally mud. More to come….

Of all of the incredible, top-of-the-line products incorporated as part of our Motor City’s Ultimate Ram Project I’d say that when we are at a public event, car show, gun show – anywhere people gather – our truck is always a conversation piece and as soon as we open a door and our space-age AMP Research PowerStep XL boldy yet gracefully lowers itself there is always an immediate “Wow!” factor followed by “do it again!”
These AMP PowerSteps are awesome! They are so darn cool that it is sometimes easy to forget the incredible functionality they provide. We’d be lost without them and plan on using them for all of our future builds. We say, “Once you go AMP, you never go back“.
